My Story

Hello, I'm John Asski. My journey isn't that of a typical entrepreneur. As an aerospace engineer, I've always been fascinated by innovative solutions. But my greatest challenge, and ultimately my greatest achievement, wasn't in engineering, but in my personal battle against smoking. At 44, as I was preparing to become a father, I faced an alarming reality: my health was in jeopardy due to my cigarette addiction.

This realization sparked an unrelenting quest for a solution. I delved into extensive research, exploring breathing techniques and alternative methods to conquer my addiction. Vaping, patches, nicotine gum, hypnosis, acupuncture, meditation, support groups - I tried everything, but nothing seemed to work. It was frustrating, but each failure only strengthened my resolve.

It was in this context that I began developing a prototype, a steel tube. Despite its potential, it was too heavy, had a metallic taste, and its size was not optimal. But failure was not an option. Convinced of the importance of my idea, I made a radical decision: to leave my stable job and head to Germany, just months before my wife's due date, to collaborate with artisans on the final version of my invention.

The work in Germany was intense and demanding. After weeks of collaboration and innovation, we created the first version of the Breathlace. Testing the product and seeing significant results from the first day was a moment of triumph. I knew then that I had something special in my hands, something that could change lives.

Today, as the founder of Bystana, I am proud to lead a company that is more than a brand: it's a movement. We are dedicated to helping people overcome their nicotine dependence and combat the stress and eating disorders related to quitting smoking. As a father of two extraordinary daughters, I live each day with gratitude and passion. I have not only left the world of engineering to dedicate myself to Bystana, but I have also conquered my addiction. I no longer smoke and no longer need my own product. My newfound passion for running has even led me to prepare for a marathon in Australia in 2024.

My mission with Bystana is clear: to offer hope, support, and a tangible solution to those struggling with addiction. I am living proof that, no matter the obstacles, with determination and innovation, it is possible to transform your life.
